So appropriate that this is the first entry, it does set the tone of the rest of what's to follow.
These cookies came out really well, but as always, some adjustments were made. Not as sweet considering there's lots of chocolate goodness already in there. But oh so yummy anyway ...
Enjoy..
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups butter at room temperature
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp salt
4 tbsp milk
2 tbsp vanilla extract
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:

2. Cream sugar into shortening. Add milk and vanilla beat until fluffy. Blend in egg.
3. Then add dry ingredients and fold into mixture with a wooden spoon.
4. Stir in chips and nuts.
5. Drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheets and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) around 10 - 12 minutes until golden.
6. See how long it lasts.
Makes about 60 soft cookies.
